City of Casey: the centre of Melbourne's baby boom
By Hayley Pillar
According to a report done by 9 News (21st April 2018) Fifty babies are born every week in Melbourne’s City of Casey, and that number is only going up.
Casey Hospital in Berwick currently oversee almost 2500 births annually, quadruple the amount back when they opened in 2004.
By the time these babies are planning their 21st parties, Melbourne is likely to be the largest city in the country – and thanks to a near $135 million boost, the hospital can keep up with the rapid growth in Melbourne’s outer southeast.
The hospital is expected to support an additional 1300 births every year by the end of 2019.
